I have chosen the term "wabi" to describe my goal in photography. There are several definitions of "wabi", one is "an understated form of beauty, a quality of refinement masked by rustic simplicity". Another is "a quality of austere and serene beauty expressing a mood of spiritual solitude". My goal is to capture the essence of what I am looking at, be it ordinary, or as in a few of these pictures, what would be considered not so austere, but that which can bring out their beauty in a different way.

Sherry recently won 3 Honorable Mentions in the Cimarron Sky Dog photo contest. Her work is currently on exhibit at the 'Collected Works Bookstore'
